Through the use of such Bakhtinian concepts as the chronotope, heteroglossia, the carnivalesque, and polyphony, Harrison details how filmmakers—faithful to their specific cultures, genders, geographies, and historical moments—dialogically locate their particularity through Shakespeare’s presence.
